Professional Summary

• Detail-oriented CNC Machinist with 5+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) to machine large, heavy, and precision components. Skilled in interpreting blueprints and GD&T, selecting tooling, editing CNC programs, and machining complex parts to tight tolerances while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Core Technical Skills

• CNC Machine Operations: CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), Vertical Boring Mills (VBM), large-diameter turning centers.
• Programming & Setup: G-code/M-code editing, tooling selection, fixture setup, work offsets, chuck and faceplate setup, speeds and feeds optimization.
• Measurement & Quality: Micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation.
• Materials: Carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, alloy steel, aluminium, and large forgings/castings.

Nice to Have

• Set up and operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) to machine large rings, housings, flanges, shafts, and heavy industrial components to tolerances of 0.001".
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and process documentation to manufacture precision machined parts.
• Install and qualify cutting tools, boring bars, turning inserts, and workholding fixtures while optimizing machining parameters for efficiency and quality.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and height gauges.
• Edit CNC programs, adjust tool offsets, troubleshoot machining issues, and perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize machine uptime and part quality.
