Weekends: Once every 6 weeks
Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health Wyandotte Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery team . This role provides comprehensive orthopedic care across ambulatory and inpatient settings, with responsibilities including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first-line provider. The APP will independently evaluate patients, review and interpret imaging, order durable medical equipment (DME), perform splinting and casting, and coordinate referrals to other providers within the department as needed. In the inpatient setting, responsibilities include daily rounding, hospital and ER consultations, and managing discharges, with clinic and inpatient management occurring during daytime hours. The APP will work collaboratively with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure safe and efficient patient outcomes. Weekend inpatient coverage will be provided on a rotating basis with other team members, with potential opportunities for OR first assist based on operational needs and scheduling. Preference will be given to candidates with 1–2 years of Emergency Room, Urgent Care, or orthopedic experience.
